Arts of the World Crystal Greek Discus Thrower Swank Cuff Links

$99.00

Very nice Bavarian crystal rectangles prong set onto a black background on silvertone cuff links.  The picture is of Discobolus of Myron, also known as the Discus Thrower, which was a Greek sculpture circa 460-450 BC.  Each cuff link measures 7/8″ x 5/8″.  There is a strange black mark on either side of the discus’ head on the right one.  I’m not sure what it is, but it’s behind the crystal.  The cuff links come in their original presentation box, which is quite impressive in itself.  It is a black velvet oval box with a hinged lid with a plastic goldtone globe on the top.  The lid has a silk lining that says “Arts of the World” and “SWANK”.  The cuff links attach to a black velvet insert and has an original tag that says “from BAVARIA BAVARIAN CRYSTALS”.  The cuff links are in good working condition and are really quite amazing. From what I could find online, these were made in the late ’50s, early ’60s.  Very nice.
