Bakelite on Wood Bird in Flight Pin
Carved butterscotch bakelite streamline bird in flight applied to a dark stained piece of wood. A glass eye is wired through the bakelite and into the wood, hence the divot in the back of the wood where the wire is tucked inside it. The beak of the bird tapers to the wood, which is painted yellow. Although the bakelite beak looks blunted, it does blend into the wood and does not appear broken. The c-clasp is in good working condition. Measures 3 3/4″ x 1″. A really nice combination of bakelite and wood.
