Beautiful Rhinestone and Pink and Green Enamel Floral Duette

$165.00

This is an absolutely beautiful old duette set. It is encrusted in round clear rhinestones. It also has 6 clear rhinestone baguettes in the center that are prong set. Some of the rhinestones are yellowed, as you can see in the photo. There are 4 pink enamel flowers and 2 green enamel leaves. There is some very minor wear to the enamel on the high points, which I have pictured. This is a duette, which means it is 2 dress clips that attach to a pin mechanism, or they can be taken off and worn as clips instead of as a pin. The pin mechanism has 2 patent marks on it. The first says “PAT.1945268” and the other one is “PAT 2161668”. The first patent was by John Fielding, assignor for Joseph Whitaker for an “ornament retaining device,” filed on April 26, 1933, and patented on January 30, 1934. Apparently, Mr. Fielding passed away, and Mr. Whitaker filed for a patent on one of Mr. Fielding’s design for a “pin assembly,” filed on February 20, 1937, and patented on June 6, 1939. Safety clasp and dress clips are in good working condition. Measures 3″ x 1-3/4″. Absolutely beautiful.
