This is a wonderful old belt made of square links made to look like cut steel or marcasites. The center is a butterfly that has the same cut style. There is a post on the back of the butterfly and 6 holes in the other end of the belt for sizing. There is actually a metal belt loop so that you can put the excess belt through it. There is one link that has triangular shaped tabs sticking out above and below it, which keeps the “belt loop” from sliding past it. There is also one link that has a loop along the bottom of it, which I am guessing was there so a chatelaine could be hung from it. This had to have been made for a child, because the biggest it will size to is 28″. There is some wear to the high points, but it is still in good vintage condition.
