Old Porcelain and Rhinestone Medallion Pin

$59.00

This is a heavy burnished goldtone pin with a large round medallion dangle that contains a large round prong set porcelain cabochon with a picture of a man and woman on it. The pin and medallion are heavy and contain many clear rhinestones. The back is marked “PAT. 1765131″ with a backwards “3″. Research of this patent shows it was for the pin hinge and was originally applied for on May 6, 1929 by Israel W. Cooper of New York, NY, and patented on June 17, 1930. There are pictures of the designs as well. It’s very interesting to see these old documents. You can check it out at the United States Patents and Trademarks website. Pin measures 3-1/2″ long x 2-1/2″ wide. The pin has a C-clasp and it is in good working condition. Very nice old piece of jewelry.
