Spectacular Topaz and Lizards Belt Buckle

Wonderfully designed large rectangle belt buckle with an art deco flare enhanced by 2 scrollwork applications that help hold a large oval topaz colored rhinestone in a bezel setting. Above and below the oval stone are lizards (or alligators). The piece is very detailed in its design. It may have gold content due to the fact that there are different colors of metal, however it is not marked. The topaz colored rhinestone has scuffs along the top edges and a tiny nick out of a side facet. There is a little bit of patina to the metal, but nothing that detracts from it. This piece is quite old, possibly 1920s. Measures 2-1/16 x 2-7/8″.
