Sterling Coro Craft Duette Enameled Parrots Pin/ Fur

$277.00

This is a bright goldtone over sterling piece featuring 2 tan parrots with brown and orange accents on the tail feathers and green and red accents on the head.  The eyes are what looks like clear rhinestones with red paint around the edge.  Each parrot has clear rhinestone breasts and sit atop a clear rhinestone perch.  The pin is actually composed of 2 dress clips that are clipped to a special frame so they can be worn together as a pin or separately as fur clips.  One bird is marked “Coro Craft” in cursive and “STERLING”; the other bird is not marked.  The frame is marked “Coro Duette” in cursive writing, “STERLING” and also “PAT. No. 1798867”.  This patent was applied for by Gaston Candas on May 31, 1930, and was approved on March 31, 1931.  You can see the patent by clicking HERE.  This pin measures 2 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ overall.  Each clip measures 2 1/4″ x 3/4″.  The safety clasp is in good working condition and the dress clips are tight.  The fur clips on the back do not have the gold finish and the frame’s finish has a bit of wear; otherwise, this piece is in great condition.
