Sterling WWII PT Boat Enlisted Serviceman Uniform Lapel Pin
$127.50
This is a fantastic piece of WWII history. This is a nicely detailed sterling silver PT boat, which is a patrol boat with torpedoes. This pin was given to a surface warfare qualified PT boat enlisted serviceman to wear on his uniform lapel during WWII. (Silver indicates an enlisted serviceman, while a gold one would indicate an officer.) Pin shows patina, but I leave that up to the buyer if they want to remove it; I feel it is part of the age and charm of the pin. Pin measures 2 1/2″ x 5/8″. Safety catch is in good working condition. The back is marked “STERLING” twice, and “PAT. 2066969”, which is a patent of the safety catch, that was applied for on 2/1/1935 by Frank E. Farnham, and was published on 1/5/1937.
