Unusual Double Dress Clips/Sweater Guard with Portrait Pendant
$155.00
This is quite an unusual piece of jewelry. It is a double set of goldtone art deco-looking dress clips set with poured clear rhinestones. 3 chains hang from the dress clips and lead to a large oval heavy filigree pendant that has a large oval porcelain portrait prong set in the center. The portrait is of a woman and a man playing a mandolin. There is a small chip out of the top of the porcelain, which I have taken pictures of. I believe this was probably worn on a collar so it hung down like a necklace, but it also could have been worn as a sweater guard to hold a sweater closed, or even worn as a cloak guard, to hold a cloak closed. This is an absolutely beautiful and rare piece of jewelry. The clips each measure 1-1/8″ x 1″ and are in good, tight working condition. The set stretches out along the shortest chain to 9-1/2″. The pendant is huge and measures 3″ x 2-1/2″. Really an amazing piece of jewelry.
